Most of our Boroughbridge friends will be well aware of Greenwood Butchers, as they have been in the historic town of Boroughbridge for almost 40 years, now owned by John Tipping. Having been recommended but another client, we were approached by John to create and manage Facebook for the business as he has no social media experience but understood this was now a vital form of communicate with his existing & potential consumers.
It is our role to identify USP’s and research new ways to gain a competitive advantage for Greenwoods against its competitors and to promote these via social media. These USP’s include; sourcing animals from local farms and markets, the array of meats available and his skills as butcher and owner of the shop serving customers himself. John also offers hog roasts for birthdays, weddings or family get togethers which are really popular. We have been trailing different posts including recipes & funny Yorkshire-ism or meat related jokes to build up the audience and work with the insights to develop a communication plans based around what the users want to see and hear about. To spread the word about Facebook,we have created signs for inside the shop and also working with John to try new ideas such as weekly offers; and engaging with other local business to build awareness of the site.
