To start off, what’s your name and where do you come from?
I’m Lucy Williams, and I’ve lived in Boroughbridge nearly all my life.
Tell me an interesting fact about yourself.
I have a three-legged cat, Louis. We get a third off at the vets!
How long is it since you joined hype?
I joined hype in November 2017.
And why did you join?
Emma and I live three doors down from each other (there’s no escape, I know!) and when she knocked on my door in late September last year, with word of a vacancy at hype, I jumped at the opportunity. I’ve always been interested in writing and anything to do with it, and the idea of sitting behind a keyboard tap-tapping away for a living was perfect for me! I’m easily pleased, I know!
So now to the important stuff…
What’s your all-time favourite film?
Tough decision, but it’s got to be Anastasia. I’m a child at heart, yes, but if my 24-year-old sister AND my 72-year-old grandmother can still belt out the tunes with pride, so can I!
What do you like to listen to in the office?
My music taste is all over the show; I like a little bit of everything. But I couldn’t go without my main men: Ben Howard, Gregory Alan Isakov and Bear’s Den.
Favourite holiday destination?
It depends on the mood I’m in – I’m a little indecisive if you couldn’t tell! Take me to my favourite book shop in Paris, Shakespeare and Company, and I’ll be happy, or to a beach in Spain or Greece. Just give me sunshine, a book and maybe a cocktail, and I could be anywhere in the world!
Top 3 celebrity crushes.
I don’t really do celebrity crushes, but I do have to say I have a pretty unhealthy obsession with Choupette, the Chanel Cat!
If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Carbonara, hands down, or any form of pasta. In fact, that probably is the only thing I actually eat!
Drink of choice?
Gin and tonic, of course! But that better be elderflower tonic, and none of those fancy berries or leafy bits. No-one wants a chunk of foliage stuck in the end of their straw!
Dogs or cats?
All animals! I’m the ultimate crazy cat lady and an all-round dog botherer! If I see an animal in the street, I am GOING to tell it how cute it is.
TV must watch?
Outlander, American Horror Story, OA.
