So, August is nearly over and September isn’t far off, which means it’s time to start planning for next month. Finding the right content can be hard, and filling a month can sometimes seem be even harder! We’re here to give you that helping hand you’ve been looking for, with ideas on how you can fill those empty spaces.
One of the first things we do here at hype when planning our clients’ social media content, is sit down and see what is going on that month. That can be anything from main calendar dates like ‘back to school’ and Fashion Week; sporting fixtures and cultural dates such as film releases or local events. There are also themes to consider. For example, September is the time of new beginnings for some, so a style change, a new healthy eating and exercise plan, or a new hobby all come into focus with the change of season.
Awareness days are a great way to improve your reach and stay in keeping with the “right here, right now” of social media, to bring a new audience to your pages. As you’ll probably be aware, there is a day of the year for almost everything, and nothing seems to be too bizarre or too out-there for its own special day. Whilst it can be fun seeing how you can create a random tangent to make one of these days work for you, once you lay out all of your days make sure you are equally ruthless with cutting some out, and ensure your feed is not just full of them.
So, we’ve waded through some of the less useful days (to be polite) in September, and picked out a few of the good ones, ready to perk up your social media channels this month…

Why not use the opportunity to ask your followers for their ideas? What products would they like to see? What would they like to know about your company?
