Hype life is never dull, with our clients making sure every day is varied, and allowing us the opportunity to turn our skills to different industries. Then there’s #Boroughbridge itself, which always keeps us on our toes! Here’s how our week looks…
Monday – never in need of motivation, just caffeine.

With the kids sorted and packed off to school, Emma is in work for around 8.30am. Coffee is, of course, the first port of call, then Radio 2 goes on, and she sets to issuing press releases with the latest product launches for Remi Cachet.
Lucy lands at 9am, just in time for a weekend catch up over coffee. But, it’s not all chit-chat, there’s the review of inspiration and topical content we’ve seen over the weekend, and time to go through press coverage together. Then it’s time to check social streams for the accounts we fully manage, respond to messages and outwardly engage, before loading up more comms, as we like to get a week in hand.
11.11am – Lucy’s daily time check is announced, and she reminds Emma to make a wish for the day. Does anyone else do this?
It’s report time on a couple of accounts, so once the data is input it’s a chance to really review what’s worked, why and review future plans to make sure we are on target. Agenda and meeting prep done ahead of tomorrow, it’s time for home.
After work …
Emma heads to COBRA for her weekly HIIT training session. But will she be able to walk in the morning?
Lucy opts for her onesie and a spot of home décor, having recently made over her bedroom, whilst debating politics with Simon, her dad. They’ve learnt by now, not to mention the “B” word – that’s a rabbit hole to fall down another day.
Tuesdays – are days out!
This Tuesday, we are both in London for a meeting with House of Life London, so it’s an early start and a train ride, full of questionable WIFI and catching up on emails.

The office space at 12 Hay Hill, Mayfair, is divine, and offered a stunning setting to meet other team members, to go through the strategic plans for the next 6 months. All adding our input and experience, this hot new brand has a lot going for it, and we are really pleased to be on board at this early stage. There’s just time to make use of the beautiful setting and snap a few product shots; we never miss an opportunity.
The train journey home is a time to action some of the meeting follow ups and chat through workloads for the rest of the week, thinking ahead to gently remind other clients of items we need and when. We are known for our polite nagging to make sure things keep moving!
After work …
Back in time for the Guides run and this week’s episode of Bake Off at Emma’s. Lucy curls up on the sofa with her mum, protests whatever strange film she has found that day, then sits glued to the TV until it finishes! And of course, her evenings wouldn’t be complete without a little love for Louis, her bedraggled, three-legged cat. She always makes sure to check that he had a nice day napping while everyone was at work.

Wednesday – putting Boroughbridge in the frame.
Emma heads out for her morning run, then the commute to work is not exactly long, so she calls in to see Hugh and Sharon in local deli favourite, Think Fink, for the office milk supply before heading in.
Katie joins the team on Wednesday to help with admin and project work. We are a stickler for details, and Katie is cross-checking client Wagtail Designs’ beautiful illustrations and ensuring the back catalogue is available on Pinterest.
Social sorted for today, local client Mini Swimmers drops in a few items for a photo shoot to help create new imagery and creative posts for the coming month.

The phone has been fixed to Emma most the day – client calls, graphic designer calls, printer calls. It’s quicker and more effective to call sometimes. Postie, Steve, pops in to brighten our day at around 10 for a chat – no post mind. We certainly do have the best posties in Boroughbridge! New samples for proofing arrive too.
Emma’s on the 5:2 diet right now, and today is a feast day (hurray!), so she’s meeting hubby, Matt, for a lunch date at local café, Plenty, (she’d highly recommend the hot pot).
Lucy has her weekly lunch date with her G-ma and her two very noisy sausage dogs. Will it be courgette soup today? Or courgette cake? It’ll be allotment grown, whatever it is! A post lunch de-brief reveals all.
Photo booth and our collection of props ready, it’s a good job there are a few of us in as you always need a spare pair of hands!
4pm is our regular hype fix, and we have been re-working our own website at present to make sure all our services are covered, our clients are included and our case studies are updated.
After work …
Inspired by the piano at the station yesterday, Lucy heads to her own set of ivories for a little Emilie Sande, Sam Smith and a few Disney classics to keep the triplets next door sweet. Emma has accounts to do!

Thursday – College day
Lucy’s at VQ Solutions today as part of her apprenticeship – she’s nearly qualified! This week, she’s been recapping the basics of digital marketing, making sure she knows all there is to know in time for her end point assessment.
Not to be left behind, Emma has a CIM Webinar over lunch on – part of her CPD for her accreditation to the world of marketing. Emma smashes her target annually with courses, networking and mentoring. Today is “the Future Marketer”.
But first, it’s client catch up call. Remi Cachet work is pretty fast paced, and we like to touch base regularly to make sure everything is covered, especially with the event of the year looming. Then time for some competitor research as other extension brands release their show plans and offers, so I can give the client a heads up.
Afternoon calls with Cult51 to go through new projects, product launches and plans through to the end of the year – plus time for a little mum chat and a new date in the diary to get together next month.
Hart Law follow ups completed.
Fri-yay – a short day
Emma’s on the school run and as we work long hours in the week, we work a shorter day on a Friday and get away early. Emergency call from a client wanting some technical help – thankfully she is a stone’s throw from the office so she bobs in and we get her sorted.
9.30 is client meeting with Kate from Wagtail Designs and special guest, Max. Planning a few months ahead, as we are already talking Christmas presents in her comms. A few technical issues to rectify with the web design team.
Quick lunch on the hoof, but with treats from Lucy’s mum, Julie, to keep us going. We love her baking practice coming our way; you never know what will be sent! Chat through next week’s plans, and get client’s sign-off on an E-shot before setting it to send at peak time. Both away by 3pm and the weekend begins.
Afterwork …
Homework for Emma and Lucy battles the Harrogate traffic for a weekend at her boyfriend’s. Normally, she delves straight into a book, but giving reading a break after being (temporarily) defeated by Outlander No 5, she sees what Netflix has to offer. She’s recently been re-watching Tom Hardy’s “Taboo”.
Saturday
It’s family time for Emma, with gymnastic runs, more homework and brunch at local boutique, Bean Emporium. A quick check of social channels for messages and comments to reply on, Lucy can return to chilling out. Emma however, has to pack to head down to London for this year’s Salon International. Meet the Remi Cachet team for dinner and a catch up.
Sunday
Whilst Lucy enjoys a lazy morning with Coco the (enormous) cat, Emma has an early start and heads in to ExCel for a first coffee meeting with trade magazines. Ad managers want to talk 2019 and journo’s want to know more about the new products from Remi Cachet. It’s a great chance to say hi to former clients, Gold Class and committee members for The Hairdressers’ Charity, as well as many old friends. Hugs, kisses and a laugh or two – the hair industry is truly great. Making sure lots of photo and filming opps are taken; Emma grabs founder, Victoria, for some Facebook and Insta Live, to talk about her latest releases and how the show is going.

Remi Cachet sponsor a competition at the show, and having worked this for a few years, Emma and Victoria head to the competition area to ensure everything is running smoothly, and welcome the finalists and invited judges. This takes up a few hours, over judging and then awards presentation on stage.
HJ team meetings and chats with editorial team and management, as we continually review how the competition has worked to make improvements for the future. Emma then heads back to the stand and stage area for her extension application.
On and off social all day, monitoring entries to the stand giveaway and to capture greater coverage of the show.

Sunday evening is Emma’s usual time to prep for the week ahead, and the train journey back to Yorkshire is no exception. Log on, clear emails and social, as well as the weekly feature of Super Stylist Sunday on Remi Cachet’s Insta. Plus, a quick text to her bestie for sanity.
Another week starts tomorrow, and Lucy has a rare day off. That’ll be coffee for one then.
