We have been working on an exciting project for a couple of months now and we are now able to share it with you.
Our founder, Emma, joined the management & fundraising committees of HABB (Hair & Beauty Benevolent) in Spring, to be able to ‘give back’ to the industry she has worked within for such a long time. HABB is an independent service dedicated solely to helping hairdressing professionals and ex-hairdressers in their hour of need. The committee started a re-structuring process to be able to create a new charity ‘The Hairdressers’ Charity’ and Emma was asked to head up the re-branding process which completed in August. The new charity would be much more identifiable with both beneficiaries and supporters, as well as being able to become a registered charity. This would allow the charity to take advantage of gift aid, increasing awareness of the charity.
Working with two different design teams to be able to get logo, this developed a main logo incorporating scissors (a popular emblem with hairstylists) and heart to show the caring aspect of charity giving. It also bore a ‘hairy heart’ image and together both if these icons have been used across all the new materials. Having reviewed the various literature and material created by HABB; the second design team moved the new material on. For example, changing from cardboard collection boxes to branded tins. Simple, but a very effective way to represent a professional charity! Emma coordinated with colleagues on the committee for the changeover of the website, PR and the launch party activities.
Moving forward we have taken over responsibility for the social media; it is great to play a part in giving back to an industry close to our hearts.
